Association of Investment Management Companies

The Association of Investment Management Companies (AIMC) has collaborated with the media in enhancing knowledge on fund business for fund/stock news reporters.  In-depth and in-width training/seminar activities have been planned to be held quarterly to increase news people’s knowledge and understanding of fund industry and management, and update them on the current changing circumstances that will have impact on the industry and future outlook.  This will be a channel to pass on accurate, complete and quality information to investors to support and optimize their investment decision-making and in turn benefit the fund industry development as a whole.  


Forum # 4 was held on December 4, 2008 (today) on the topic of “Global Financial Crisis...Impacts on Thai/Global Bond Markets in 2009.”  The organizers were honored by Dr. Supakorn Soontornkit, Senior Executive Vice President of MFC Asset Management Plc., and Mr. Kampol Asavakulchai, Deputy Managing Director of TMB Asset Management Co., Ltd., who joined the forum as speakers.  There were 20 media representatives participating in the forum.


The talk forum featured such issues as the global financial crisis and the impacts on bond markets in overall, both at home and overseas; Thai economic outlook; interest rate trends in 2009; fixed income funds direction in 2009; investment strategies of fund managers; fixed income FIF overview; and suggestions and recommendations on investment strategy for investors.
